.......

I'm tired..........................................

That stupid Mulberry bag

I can't stop thinking about it! Everywhere I turn, there it is. Vogue... hanneli.com... the sartorialist... a million other places on the internet. Sadly, I blew all my money on something else (maybe I'll tell you tomorrow). Oh well... guess I missed this one.

Oh wait, I should tell you what it is: Mulberry Alexa bag ($1060). Pictured below.

Thanks, and come again!

London!

I AM SOOO EXITED!

I will be going to London + Paris soon!

I haven't ever been (my current occupation seldom gives time off) so this is HUGE! I don't even know where to start. I guess I'll start by talking about London, since I've done the most research on it.

I would like to stay in the Mayfair and St. James area or the Knightsbridge one. Mayfair is more of an old-money district with some very prestigious shopping. Knightsbridge is also a huge shopping/dining area, with lots of great museums nearby. As you can see, proximity to shopping is a huge deal for me. Now I'll go into detail about the attractions of these areas.

MAYFAIR / ST. JAMES
I like the idea of this. Unfortunately, it is VERY pricey and I would like to reserve some cash for the ah-mazing clothes, bags, and shoes that they are sure to have in London. Mayfair includes the world-famous Regent, Oxford, and Bond Streets with major shopping. Selfridge's, Liberty, and Marks & Spencer are the big stores here.

KNIGHTSBRIDGE
Also extremely expensive, this area encompasses high-end shopping including Harrod's and Harvey Nichols department stores. It is a great place to look for fancy restaurants and designer boutiques. The Natural History Museum, Science Museum, and the Victoria & Albert museum are nearby, though not actually in Knightsbridge.

Overall... which one is better?

The Snooze Button

Oh, how I it right now. But oh, how I love it in the morning.
It's just so easy to talk yourself into a few extra minutes of divine sleep when it is six in the morning. "I'll just get ready extra-fast," or "This will only be a one-time thing". Ugh.
You end up half-ready and even tireder than you would have been if you had not pressed the button. So don't press the button.

Thanks, and come again!

MY TOP 5

1. Mulberry Alexa bag

Love the style, color, hardware. Need I say more? Photo from Harrods.com.

2. Google Chrome internet browser

My main reason for switching over from Safari is the theme choice (I like the Mulberry one). You can choose a background and colors, as well as download lots of extensions that give you options Safari can only dream of. It also has a faster crash (not that stupid drawn out process of Internet Explorer and Safari). But Safari has a much better favorites system. You can download both for free. Photo from PCWorld.com

3. Chloe Paraty bag

I love the slouchy shape and style ;). Photo from net-a-porter.com

4. Isabel Marant shoes

I love these boots (Dana). The tassels look amazing from the front, and I really adore the shape of the heel. I also like the newer ones from the runway (see garancedore.fr/en/) for the colors and tie on the side. Photo from net-a-porter.com

5. Fashion magazines
I could go out and shop in stores and read every single blog in painstaking detail to learn the latest in fashion, but magazines (I like Vogue and Harpers Bazaar and Elle) let you do it from the comfort of your own couch. ;)

Guerlain Meteorites Powder for the Face

Sorry, the photos are fuzzy.

Above are images of Guerlain's Meteorites Powder. $53, Sephora. Inside a very pretty box are a (cheap) powder puff and six colors of powder pearls. Each one is designed to provide a different perfecting effect for your face. Also, it carries a light violet scent. Below are Guerlain's claims.

-RED: "Gives a healthy glow"
-GREEN (looks like blue): "Corrects redness"
-YELLOW: "Highlights and catches natural light"
-WHITE: "Illuminates"
-PURPLE: "Brightens (subdues yellow and artificial-light effects)
There are also a few shimmery ones mixed in.

This is a very unique powder for two reasons:
1) It is in the form of "pearls".
2) The pearls are crazy colors.

I think that, overall, it does not live up to the claims. HOWEVER, it is still an awesome product. While I didn't notice many perfecting effects (it reduced redness marginally), it did illuminate my face. It gives your face a delicate glow. My favorite way to use it is to dust it over my cheeks for a nice glowy effect.

Even with this glowyness, it does not absorb oil at all. If you have oily skin, you will still have to use another powder under the meteorites. Also, concealer or foundation is necessary to cover blemishes/flaws. Lastly, the powder puff is not usable; it does not do the pearls justice. Use a brush.

Oh, and I suppose I must address the price. Whether or not it is overpriced depends on your income and your needs for a powder. If you have normal or dry skin, it is probably a better value because you do not need shine control. For me, it is way overpriced. But it will last a long time because:
1) The pearls are round balls of pressed powder, essentially, so you get a lot of product.
2) I use it about 2x a week.

My rating (not based on price): 4 stars. If it had better coverage and oil control it would earn 5.

Thanks and come again!

Edit: Oops! I forgot to give you the dimensions which are as follows:
Height: 1.75 in
Top diameter: 2.5 in
Also, I should tell you that in the photos above not all of the pearls in the box are shown.
