I AM SOOO EXITED!
I will be going to London + Paris soon!
I haven't ever been (my current occupation seldom gives time off) so this is HUGE! I don't even know where to start. I guess I'll start by talking about London, since I've done the most research on it.
I would like to stay in the Mayfair and St. James area or the Knightsbridge one. Mayfair is more of an old-money district with some very prestigious shopping. Knightsbridge is also a huge shopping/dining area, with lots of great museums nearby. As you can see, proximity to shopping is a huge deal for me. Now I'll go into detail about the attractions of these areas.
MAYFAIR / ST. JAMES
I like the idea of this. Unfortunately, it is VERY pricey and I would like to reserve some cash for the ah-mazing clothes, bags, and shoes that they are sure to have in London. Mayfair includes the world-famous Regent, Oxford, and Bond Streets with major shopping. Selfridge's, Liberty, and Marks & Spencer are the big stores here.
KNIGHTSBRIDGE
Also extremely expensive, this area encompasses high-end shopping including Harrod's and Harvey Nichols department stores. It is a great place to look for fancy restaurants and designer boutiques. The Natural History Museum, Science Museum, and the Victoria & Albert museum are nearby, though not actually in Knightsbridge.
Overall... which one is better?
